New for 2022, the Hyperfreak Fire takes our most successful suit to new levels of performance, warmth and sustainability. We've combined our new TB4 neoprene and TB4 Air Firewall, and lined it with our TB4X graphene-infused liner to further increase the warmth of our ridiculously lightweight and stretchy Hyperfreak series steamers. Utilising recycled oyster shells, car tyres and plastics, solvent-free lamination, dope-dyed yarn, and limestone neoprene, our 2022 Hyperfreak steamers have taken a giant step towards building a more sustainable future and protecting our oceans. The Hyperfreak Fire back zip model features our patented ZEN ZIP entry system. The ZEN ZIP is the most unrestricted back zip system built for surfers.
Beneath the calm surface lies a relentless drive to paddle into the biggest and heaviest barrels in the world.

We are stoked to announce that the O’Neill HyperFreak series has just won the “Wetsuit of the Year 2025”, as voted by the Australian Surf Industry Association.
An award that really honours the hard work by all the O’Neill team both internal and external.
This award was voted on by the very best core surf retailers in the country and something that we are super proud to achieve.
Our mission has always been to provide surfers with the very best product and this continues to be our mantra.
And as they say about the HyperFreak series.. Like surfing naked, but better.

22 yr old Aussie O'Neill team rider Joel Vaughan, has beaten the worlds best free surfers and aerialists in the STAB HIGH event at URBN SURF.
An epic event, featuring riders from around the world and including the recently crowned WSL surfing champion Yago Dora. A beautiful sunny day, saw the finalists going hammer and tongs in what came down to a tie break and pressure cooker situation. Joel threw caution to the wind on his very last wave and attempted a move he had never completed in the pool. A huge and crazy full rotation varial flip, that he landed cleanly to a massive roar from a packed stadium like crowd.
Joel had put the world on notice already this year with his rookie year on the world tour, but this further cemented him as one of the best young surfers to watch in the years to come.
