YOUR WETSUIT FINDER RESULTS
Across the NSW North Coast, Autumn from March to June will still have quite warm water temps but air temps will be getting a little chilly. Reverse for Spring, with late September to November having cold water with air temps getting warmer. These conditions are best met with either a 3/2mm steamer or a 2mm spring suit, depending upon your preference.
Our top picks?
You can’t beat the Hyperfreak series for complete freedom of movement. TheHyperfreak has glued and taped seams and no firewall liner so it’s not as warm as the Psycho or Defender series suits, but it’s the stretchiest most comfortable suit we’ve ever made, we think its perfect for surfing the NSW North Coast in cooler months.
The Reactor II 3/2mm Steamer is more affordable option, without as much stretch and comfort as the Hyperfreak.
The Defender 3/2mm Steamer is a killer suit, and while not as ridiculously light and flexible as the Hyperfreak (nothing ever has been) still awesome all round performer. It’s a warmer series than the Hyperfreak, at a lower price.
If its getting more towards summer conditions, or you don't feel the cold as much you will enjoy a Springsuit. Our Youth Reactor II 2mm Spring Suit is a very popular choice. A perfect combination of stretch and durability.
It just depends what’s most important to you - warmth / flexibility / price.
Lean towards a 3/2mm steamer if you are surfing more towards Sydney or Winter, and got the Springsuit or even just a wetsuit jacket such as the Youth Reactor II 1.5nn Long Arm Crew if you are more towards Byron Bay or warmer periods.
Check out the Winter or Summer recommendations for further suggestions if you are leaning towards colder or warmer conditions.
