YOUR WETSUIT FINDER RESULTS
Ahh, Summer on the NSW South Coast... Depending on the month and potential north current upwelling, you might be just boardies and some sun protection, a spring suit variation, or even back into the bloody steamer on Christmas day!
Jackets / Neoprene:
The Youth Reactor II 1.5mm Long Arm Crew with a pair of boardies is probably the go-to kit for any grom this summer. If this isn't enough warmth because that nor-easter is relentless and the cold currents have returned, you'll have no troubles surfing all day long in a Youth Reactor II 2mm Short Arm Springsuit.
Step up to the Hyperfreak 3/2+ Steamer for the ultimate summer steamer if the cold currents come through. The Hyperfreak has glued and taped seams and no firewall liner so it’s not as warm as the Psycho or Defender series suits, but it’s the stretchiest most comfortable suit we’ve ever made, a perfect steamer for warmer months! For the less frequent surfer, the Reactor II 3/2mm Steamer is a good value for money option featuring wind-resistant Smoothskin 3mm neoprene on the chest and back, and Ultraflex DS neoprene on the arms and legs, but lacks the stretch and warmth of higher-end wetsuits.
Lycra:
Skin protection is nothing to take lightly. But lathering up suncream all over the upper body can be a huge hassle especially if you’re frothing to get out there. The summer sun can pack a wallop, luckily we’ve got plenty of options to suit anybody.
Our Skins range, in particular the Skins Long Arm Crew, is the best option for overall summer sun protection and to guard against rashes. Skins also come in Short Arm versions, as well as 'Rashie Tee' options, which are a slightly looser fit.
