YOUR WETSUIT FINDER RESULTS
Autumn and Spring for the South Island still has cold air temps and cold water, just not as brutally cold as Winter. There is an opportunity to transition out of your coldest neoprene setup into something a little lighter. Booties and a hood will still be needed for part of these seasons, but again lighter versions may be best to transition from Winter to Summer if you have the option.
The Defender 4/3mm is a great all-rounder. With a thermal liner to keep you warm, the Defender keeps the water out, and the heat in. Whilst not quite as flexible as the Psycho One or Hyperfreak, its comfortable, durable and incredible value for money. 3/2mm is an option if you already have a thicker suit, and are really just looking for a light summer suit.
The Psycho One 3/2mm is top of the range for boys. Very warm and flexible for a 3/2mm with fully sealed seams, hydrophobic outer fabric and Firewall liner, so you stay drier longer inside the suit. The Hyperfreak 4/3+ has glued and taped seams and no firewall liner, but is the stretchiest most comfortable suit we’ve ever made, its not as warm as the Defender and Psycho series, making the 3/2+ a great summer option.
It just depends on what’s most important to you - warmth / flexibility / price.
