For many surfers, the Defender hits the sweet spot for everyday sessions. Where the HyperFire 3/2 differs is in the high performance materials and construction designed for long, demanding surfs where weight and paddling fatigue are major factors:

Neoprene & Stretch: The Defender uses UltraFlex DS (around 150% stretch), whereas the HyperFire upgrades to TechnoButter4 (TB4 on the body & TB4x on the shoulders/arms). TechnoButter is significantly lighter, stretches up to around 180% - 220%, and holds less water weight over a session.

Thermal Lining: While the Defender includes a PolarFlex/UltraFiber Firewall, the HyperFire utilises TB4 Firewall infused with recycled graphene fibres. This traps body heat more efficiently, dries faster, and adds warmth without adding bulk.

Seam Seals: The HyperFire adds full interior seam taping and minimal panel placement. This creates an elite tight seal against wind and flushing over extended use.
